When the movement of the diaphragm is going up and down rhythmically, it is what is called Rhythmic Yogic Breathing. The area around the diaphragm is known as a solar plexus area and when you practice Rhythmic Yoga Breathing this area is affected. This area is well known as an energy center.

During our day-to-day activities the breathing rhythm is not constant. The breath rhythm changes depending of our body and mind activities or states such as walking, sleeping, and running and our mental states such as perception, pain experience, belief, desire, intention, emotion and memory.

Rhythmic Breathing has a calming effect so in moments of tension, confusion or uncertainty can be used as tool.

The following techniques may induce conscious control of the breathing rhythm:

  1. Rhythmic Breath using Abdominal
2. Rhythmic Breathing using Yogic Breath.
3. Rhythmic Breathing with Extension of Breath Duration.
